You need a far stronger complaint (preferably with supporting evidence) to stand any chance of success.0 -

You make a complaint to DFS giving your reasons. If you have evidence to support your complaint, the supply copies of that as well.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). If you paid the PPI in with the loan payment each month, this is Single Premium PPI, in effect a loan on the loan that you repaid to term end with interest.
What you would not have been told at the point of sale was, had you repaid this loan back early then you would have received a rebate of the PPI for the months unused, you would then repay the remaining PPI back in the settlement figure, use this as a reason for mis sale, if you could have repaid this loan without the need for insurance then state why, if you had life cover, a good sick package from your employer or maybe savings, use these as reasons too.
The address to send your complaint to is on post 3.0 -
can you still claim even if you dont have any paperwork?
or will your claim just be dismissed?
also can they follow up your claim just on the address where the item was delivered to?
would they be able to proceed without an invoice or policy/item number0 -
It would depend on their records.
If there is no evidence that PPI ever even existed then there is little chance.0 -
The ppi premium was included in the monthly repayment for the aforementioned item.the salesman even said to take it out as the credit application would be looked on more favourably.in his words it shows that you want to pay the loan back in case you lose your job.therefore saying your loan will be passed if you have ppi.this i think is mis selling0

It is mis-selling but it is one of the weakest of the complaint reasons. It is effectively an unprovable allegation. So, give it a go but you would pretty much be reliant on auto-payout or another failure being identified.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Don't build you hopes up. If DFS have any sense they will have destroyed sales records from 9 years ago, and unless you can provide your own documentary evidence of PPI your complaint will be dead in the water.0
