Yeah
I think I should just pay cos I don't really know what I'm talking about here
I'm doing a degree at UNI and working and I don't have the time to research and write strong letters.
I don't have the knowledge or experience
I should probably just pay the £60 and not park there again.
Unless anyone's willing to help me step by step0 -

What are you studying in Uni? Doesn't that involve research, reading and understanding?
You must have a brain to have got as far as you have? Jeez man, grow some and get on with this, it's not rocket science.
You're not studying to be a surgeon are you - if you are, do tell us which hospital to avoid in future :rotfl:
Tell you what, give your Uni bar a miss one night and do a bit of reading here, then the £60 you eventually save will pay for a good old student p|ss up when you winPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Do you know how many thousands of people get these scam tickets every day?
YES - you should fight back (think how many rounds you could buy at the Student's Union Bar with £60)
YES - you have made a good start with your appeal letter, so send and start the process
YES - you need to do some research - put 'PEEL' into the search box at the top of this forum and read the most recent threads
YES - you then need to go to the POPLA Decision's thread at the top of this forum and read the latest few pages - you'll soon get an idea of what wins at POPLA
YES - you need to draft your own POPLA appeal (note not cut and paste, but preparing a first draft appeal about your own particular case, using the info as guidance)
YES - if you post that first draft, we'll be happy to check it over for you
It is not rocket science, and well within the grasp of people with much less education than you have. So if you want us to take you by the hand and lead you step by step through the process, sorry but it isn't going to happen. We are all volunteers here, and we don't have the time or the man power to do it for you.

Fair enough.
Help guaranteed.
What grounds did you appeal on?0 -
i just sent this appeal to EXCEL
i dont know whether this is a good enough appeal but no harm in trying
(it was just a quick email as Im guessing its the POPLA letter that needs to be detailed, not this one)
Dear sir/madam
I am writing to you regarding parking charge XXXXXXXXX issued to vehicle XXXX XXX on XX/08/2013 at 20:26 for allegedly being "Parked without displaying a valid ticket / permit" by means of an automatic number plate recognition camera.
I wasn't aware, as it was late at night and all the shops are shut, that I needed to pay the display. It was raining and it was dark.
I have parked here before a while back and I know it has been free after 8PM in the past and I was unaware that the rules have changed.
As I went through into your car park I noticed a massive sign with lots of small print. as it was dark and raining I couldn't read this while I was driving through.
I have recently been back to see the signage at your premises and taken a picture of the sign that was there as I drove through. This sign does not state how long the P&D requirements are open for.
I wasn't aware the rules have changed and I feel its very unfair to expect customers to read all the signs every time they park just to make sure the rules haven't changed.
I went into nandos and asked, to which i was told it was free after 8.
If the places on your premises are not sure how long your P&D requirements are on for then how are people coming in late at night supposed to know?
The text on the drive in is small printed. Also I would like to know when the rules have changed as I have parked in this car park in the past knowing full well it has been free after 8PM.
Please may I ask to discard of this parking charge or if not please may I have a POPLA code so i may write to them, as i am aware this is in my rights and you, by law, must provide me this.
Many thanks0 -
might want to remove your name pottsy0

OK. Come back with your POPLA code and don't be put off if your appeal is turned down by the PPC.
We hit them at POPLA at their expense.
But please use any wording we supply and don't embellish it.0 -
You should also take the PCN into Nandos and explain to the manager what happened. They will often contact the PPC and get the ticket cancelled for genuine customers. Did you keep the receipt or pay by credit card? If so take your proof of purchase with you. If not, do still go in and speak to them.
If they say they can't cancel the ticket, ask then to speak to the Managing Agent for the retail park on your behalf and confirm that you were a genuine customer - and get the contact details of the Managing Agent and write to them yourself and ask for the charge to be cancelled.
There is often more than one way to skin a [STRIKE]cat[/STRIKE] PPC....

i rang nando's yesterday to which they said they cant take any responsibility as the car park is private land.
ill go in tomorrow after work and see if i can get somewhere as being in person is alway better than being on the phone.
Thanks for your help. ill let you guys know once I've heard from excel0
