I have recently asked TalkTalk for the date my contract ends as I wish to switch to another provider after that date. This is their response:
"Your 24 month contract started with us on the 1st October 2011. Once it ends on the 30th September 2013, you’ll need to give us just 30 days’ notice if you want to leave TalkTalk.
If you were to terminate your account at this point in time, you'll be liable for an estimated early termination fee of £7.81.
"
Surely my contract with them is up to and including 30th September, if I wish to switch I shouldn't have to wait until after this date to give them notice should I? I don't want to terminate now, just when my contract ends and 1st October is the date I will give my new provider so they can't charge me an early termination fee can they???

Your contract is ongoing.
The 24 months is the minimum period.
You can give them notice now to end the contract in 30 days time, as that will be after you complete your minimum period.
They can charge you a fee if you end the contract without adhering to the 30 day notice period.0 -
get away from them asap and never go back.. their a joke..0
