Noddle credit rating

I'm not sure exactly what goes into a credit rating, but I've never failed to pay a bill, I've had credit cards but always cleared them off, never been late on anything... but my credit rating was only 4/5. Like I said though, I don't really know what goes into it so it might be what I earn etc. too so didn't really query it at all.
I just had my monthly credit rating published and I am now 3/5. Nothing at all has changed since last month and I haven't taken on any new bills. When I try to download my report it just loads an XML file and at the top it says
"This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below."
And it's all in code like format.
So basically, should I be worried? Why would it drop for seemingly no reason?

Only Callcredit would know this.
Personally, I'm rated 1/5, with about 1000 greens and nothing of anything else, but at the same time, it doesn't know what I earn, what I do for work etc etc etc.
It's the information it contains that's most important than score.

Oh no...that Noddle rating is the be all and end all. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
(Or putting sarcasm to one side, it means nothing just like the Experian and Equifax scores. None of those companies are lenders. Lenders score applications differently depending on who they are and the financial product. They use data not on credit reports such as salary which you refer to earlier and other relevant data from your application. Don't worry about any changes to the worthless score as long as the actual data is accurate. Oh, and the xml issue is just a website technical problem so don't worry about that either).0 -
I was a 5/5 Noddle score rated person. I then opened a Flexdirect current account to collect account the 5% interest on 2.5K. This change alone doubled the number of current accounts that Noddle reports and reduced my 'score' to 4/5.
According to Noddle having too many current accounts presents the owner as a credit risk.
TheSeptember noddle newsletter did have an intriguing point in that Facebook / Twitter /Social media associates and online habits could be taken into consideration in credit scoring by the end of the year. Noddle also invite you to comment on facebook or twitter.
Will we have to trawl social media to root out unsuitable acquaintances and check for those with similar names / aliases that could be harming our credit chances ?

I save my Noddle credit reports as a web page (html). Works fine for me.
It seems odd that your "rating" has dropped for no apparent reason and should be investigated. Applications for credit/loans or cards can have this effect for a while but if you have not applied for anything recently then you ought to consider the possibility that someone is using your identity to apply for credit.

Oh I do know that the score isn't REALLY what matters but it's just the fact it changed for no reason at all.Consumerist wrote: »I save my Noddle credit reports as a web page (html). Works fine for me.

Saved it as a HTML and it's just still all messed up formatting. I guess their website is a bit wonky right now.
Yeah this was my concern. If someone is using my details for something. What would I do to find out if anything is up?0 -
I've been trying to improve my score for months due to an old default in 2009. It's improved a little over that time but this month it's dropped by 20 points. Noddles reason for this. The default and increased borrowed amounts on my credit. All £44 pounds worth when I have a combined limit of nearly £2,000!!
Starting to feel very dejected now as I'm at the stage of nearly having my deposit for a house saved.
What will it take!!?0 -
If you have a script blocker active in your browser (e.g. Firefox NoScrpt) then you may need to allow scripts to run from file:/// to get the page to display better. My saved web page (you need to save the web page, complete) doesn't display exactly as the original web page but it's pretty close. The green dots display only as a text "OK".. . . Saved it as a HTML and it's just still all messed up formatting. I guess their website is a bit wonky right now. . .

Clearing your debt (e.g. credit cards) regularly each month will probably help.Cherryfaze wrote: ». . What will it take!!?

Why should this be the case?0
