Moving in with my partner.

My partner works 33 hours a week and has one child. I recently was laid off and she asked me to move in with her to ease my financial situation. We had planned to move in together at some point.
This would of been fine as I was working and happy to pay my way. I no from friends that if I move in with her the money she receives will be cut big time.
Last year I only earnt £7000 because the company was in difficulty.
What I'm trying to ask is why and for how long will her benefits be reduced

Until you move out. But you should really be claiming as a couple if you are living together.0

We still live apart. For the money she will loose if I move in I don't see the point.0

If you have no income why do you think her benefits will be reduced? Have you got a lot of savings?
If she is working what benefits does she receive?
Are you claiming JSA?0 -
My JSA will stop, neither of us has savings. She currently get housing and council tax partly paid. Working tax credits and child benefit also I think.0

Are you not getting contribution based JSA? This isn't affected by household income and savings.
I suggest you put your details into the benefit calculator to see if her benefits are affected - https://www.turn2us.org.uk
Child benefit will remain the same.0 -
As I understand it is a joint claim would mean my JSA would stop0
