Hi all :)

Been looking about the forum and couldn't find anything similar so here I am (if better suited to mobile section feel free to move!)

So! Got TalkTalk installed on Wednesday. Everything seemed to connect fine. BUT there seems to be intermittent problems with the iphones 4 and 5.

The 2 iphones connect perfectly via wifi, and show good signal strength, yet when they try and open a browser or email, it tries for a couple minutes then says the page is not available.

Checked to make sure the 'kid' settings for Talktalk were ok (ie. no under 18 stuff allowed, other than facebook for DDs) The both phones seemed to be able to connect ok for a while, then went back to not connecting. Unless I need to turn off the 'kids' settings altogether maybe??

On the iphone 5, we deleted the wifi connection, then reset network settings, then tried again. Same thing.

I've been hunting other forums and there's mention of WEP instead of WAP on the router and changing 'http proxy' to 'auto' on the iphone. Will try these when I get home this evening, but any other suggestions would be most helpful! :)

Router is an DSL3680 if it makes a difference. No idea on firmware at the minute sorry.

Thanks in advance for reading and for your help :)

Muchos appreciated :D

EDIT:
For anyone else having the same problem, it is a common problem with Apple products. Firmware will need updated to v1.06t.

I always remove all security and set up connections first .
Then once phones are connected change to security settings for wifi .

  • Thanks for the reply.

Still having problems but didn't have time to do much with it at the weekend :o

Do you mean that I need to connect via cable first to make sure all is working, before sorting the wifi? Both my laptop and my android work fine, that's what's confusing me! Seems to be just the iphones....

  • Stumped still...

Was on 'chat' with Talk talk yesterday and they changed the channel setting. Tried it last night - same problem.

I just don't get why it won't work, as both an Xperia and laptop work fine.
