I ordered a Logitech M525 mouse from Amazon. The Logitech website states in its page title "Full-size mouse"
It arrived today and by looking through the transparent plastic cover and comparing the size physically to other mice, it is only slightly larger than my partner's Logitech M305 laptop mouse and no where near as large as my standard size Logitech MX518 mouse (I, of course, expected the M525 to be the size of the MX518).
I'm sure Amazon will accept the return without any issues as it is, but what if I was to open the packaging?
I ask, because I want to take it out of its packaging to try it to at least see if I can get used to it. Then I wouldn't have to return it.

You assume to much, if size was as important to you then further due diligence should have been used to determine the dimensions.
There is no set parameter for full size mice and every one will be different.
If you think it's not for you then send it back using DSR or their returns policy. As you say you can see it through the packaging so no point complicating things by opening it.
Once you use it, you may according to them go beyond their interpretation of DSR, although by law you should be ok but not all retailers agree and you could end up with problems, i.e Amazon close accounts for returns abuse.0 -
That's fair enough. I won't open it but I will send it back. You assume to much, if size was as important to you then further due diligence should have been used to determine the dimensions.

Size is of course important to me as I bought this based on Logitech's "Full-size mouse" description. After reading that, I never gave a second thought to finding it's dimensions and comparing them to the mice I had here.0 -
the MX518 is bigger than your standard mouse.
when they say full size, they mean its not a reduced size laptop mouse0 -

the title just says "Logitech Wireless Mouse M525" but they when you read this
[QUOTEMore power
You pop the tiny Logitech Unifying receiver in your notebook and leave it there. ][/QUOTE]
notice when it says notebook it would imply its a mouse designed and sized for a notebook, which is smaller than a PC.
also in its features is statesErgonomically shaped
The ergonomically shaped design and soft rubber grips conform to your hand to be naturally comfortable, and the compact size makes it easy to take with you wherever you use your computer—at home, at work, or anywhere else.0 -
You misunderstand.the MX518 is bigger than your standard mouse.

I currently have an MX518 and it's a full-size mouse.
My partner has a M305, which is a laptop mouse.
This new "Full-size mouse" M525 is only very slightly longer than the M305.
The M525 is nowhere near the size of my MX518, which is what it was due to replace.0 -
The title of the page (look in your browser window title) is "M525 Full-Size Wireless Laser Mouse - Logitech"...earthstorm wrote: »<snip>0 -
No point even debating whether the mouse is correctly described, or what 'full size' means.
Send it back under the DSR. You can open the packaging, but if you don't need to, why bother? Amazon are fine with returns. You'll have no problems."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Yeah, I'll just send it backfluffnutter wrote: »No point even debating whether the mouse is correctly described, or what 'full size' means.

I was thinking I'd at least try it, but to be fair, it's unlikely I'll be happy with it.
Cheers, guys.0 -

well that means nothing as its what it is described in the description, the title you refer too is just what they have written in the pages meta tags. They have placed the mouse on all mouse pages.0 -
reading the descriptions on all the retailers listed it does seem to be a heavy mouse for being compact.0
