Length of current DLA awards
luminated
I am just in the middle of my renewal for my HRM & MRC which I have been getting for two years. I am 65 so still able to claim it. But I was wondering what length of awards people were getting in recent times. I ask as every time I read about someone getting an award it seems to be for two years.
My health conditions will not improve (GP would confirm) so wondering if I may get longer - unless they decide not to make an award at all to save a few bob.

Are these all over £20 or is there a source where they may be cheaper but still good quality. The Physio feels I would benefit, in the home, but not to use outside as there are cases tripping over them hence the reluctance to be supplied with one officially in case I had an accident & held them responsible.
Does anyone use one?0 -
My son got an indefinite award (until PIP that is) on his renewal in May.0

My was awarded indefinite, then I completed the PIP and had no need of a medical but I think it gets reviewed every 2 years so I am assuming DLA will be reviewed with it0

I have an indefinite award, however, I don't know what will happen when it changes to PIP! An Indefinite award does not mean that you won't be re-assessed as this can happen at any time.0

Does anyone know if there's a minimum award time? Thanks.0

Interesting point & sorry I don't know.0 -
Thanks so much to you all for replying.
I have just finished my DLA renewal claim form (well a draft) & made my final decision on the attachments. On one hand it has been a real chore but on the other hand, because I've been through my original claim, a Tribunal & a Supersession claim, I still have a lot of that (useful) information embedded in my brain. It has just been a question of trying to get my brain to release it from my deep subconscious to my conscious parts :rotfl:
I will leave it for another week in case of any last minute change of mind than get it firmed up & sent off :eek:0 -
