Bigger frauds have gone unnoticed in the past employees can be fooled too!
However i would imagine people who win just dont want to publish it and even if they do it doesnt make the headlines. I have just invested 5k in them, with 2% interest rates i.e. £50 per year, it is well worth the punt!0 -
A PB win would be a nifty way of paying informers etc.0

I've heard an interview with someone who goes to tell the first prize winner that he/she has won.
The lottery winners are more likely to give permission for their names to be used in publicity because, if they do, Camelot offers a lot of help with managing and investing the money. If winners don't want to be identified, Camelot gives them the cheque and sends them off to cope by themselves.0 -

Because Camelot's stance on only helping winners who agree to publicity means that lottery winners are often made public.
There's no such pressure on PB winners and most of them, wisely, decide to keep their win a private matter. There's nothing to be gained by going public.0 -
I would imagine most who invest in Premium Bonds, already have a significant amount of other investments and savings anyway, and are probably used to managing wealth. They won't have any real need in going public if they did win the million.0
