MSE News: eBay sellers beware - its fees now eat into postage costs
Comments
-
OK, enough now I think. This thread was originally set up to discuss p And p costs on postage, it replaced a much earlier thread. Many sellers didn't like the changes but it has been in place for 4 months now and most people have adjusted their selling practices. A great many sellers benefitted from the change as well.
Can we please stay on topic and if people have general things they want to discuss then start a new thread. It is worth remembering as well that by posting a comment you will not automatically get a load of people agreeing with you, people disagree about just about everything to do with eBay, that's what makes these discussion topics.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I recently started a petition on Change [dot] org to eBay
eBay: Stop the 'Final Value Fee On Shipping Charge'
I realize that asking eBay to cease taking 10% of the shipping charge is unlikely to happen. I wish eBay would take their software that allows them to offer 'calculated shipping' and refine it to include their 10% shipping charge within the calculated amount. This could be the opening of a new door to prevent sellers from charging excessive shipping amounts in the first place.
Thank you and have a great day!0 -

Wouldn't it have been better to sign one of the petitions that have been doing the rounds since about last July?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Where are they at? The ones I saw on change.org were all closed! If you have the links I'll gladly sign!
I never bothered with them and if they were closed it was due to lack of any interest. Which is the point I was trying to make rather clumsily. Probably on this thread somewhere they may be mentioned though, as we had several users claiming that they had insider knowledge that personal lawyers had assured them this would not go ahead, that was patently false hope as well.
You are about 6 months behind everyone else, I cannot see you getting any interest at all to be honest. Worth remembering as well that many larger sellers benefitted from the change.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Sadly most of the people who post here have been brainwashed into thinking that everytime ebay fees go up it's a good thing and ebay has their best interests at heart."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Are you on the right thread? This is about charges that came in last September, if you have 'lost' money somehow via fraud or other means then it is best to start a new thread so people can see if they can help.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
