  • I quite like watching him, he's certainly a case of arrested development, and don't you find his salady things look a bit like, well, compost? Always has some compost with it!

Cant stand him either so im with you there with your rant :D my issues with him started when he was on about healthy meals and snacks at school and because of that my sons previous school banned all sweets and crisps for snacks, maybe not an issue for some but i gave my son who has diabetes a bag of crisps for his snack as that was the only thing that stopped his blood sugar dropping, had to get the consultant and diabetes nurse onto them, things were bad anyway with them but eventually got it sorted.

Surely your issue was with the school for not making alternative arrangements for a child with a health issue rather than some bloke on TV pointing out we as a nation give our kids too much cr*p to eat ?

I don't really understand all the anti-Oliver stuff TBH. He overall talks a lot of sense about eating and cooking but if you don't want to hear it - most TV's have a button to change channels and another one that turns the box off. I don't remember the last time I saw him on TV and I'm not even deliberately trying to avoid him :)

It says in the OP that the book is being offered as a freebie, where will I find it? Can someone link it please?
I don't like Jamie Oliver as a man but do like his cooking, yes he's arrogant sometimes and probably has forgotten what it's like without money, but his passion for food and making kids eat healthily is commendable. And he's completely on the money with the big TV quote!

I'm surprised at the amount of stick he's getting on this thread!

Always thought his ideas were in the right place, I mean jeez have you seen what some parents feed their children?

There's so many worse people worth complaining about out there.
