Do grandparents get money from state to look after their grand children?

 I paid my mum for 5 years to look after my little girl. Worth every penny aswell.

            I do it for love. Love for my daughter and a desire to help her financially and of course love for my grandchildren. The pre-school years are actually really short and the child is never really quite "mine" once they have gone to school. I do get school holidays off though as my daughter is a teacher!0

 It's not different though is it, if people think it's wrong to pay grandparents to look after their own flesh and blood then there's no reason to expect the state to either.             Could be if Social Services 'place' the child with the Grandparents rather than the child going into Local Authority care. Grandparents could have been assessed as foster carers.0
