Iphone and new 4g network ??
Hi
Im after a bit of advice and pointers.
I currently have a iphone 4s which is with Vodafone and due for renewal next Feb, although i can change the contract in November.
My son is having my iphone when i renew/upgrade in November, however i would like him to have it sooner.
Im not fussed about him having a 4g contract and planned on just putting a rolling sim in it for him rather than enter a contract for 2 years.
I would like a 4g compatable phone but its not a must, im not fussed about staying with Vodafone either, i find there reception quite poor at times.
The only definite is that i want to stay with Apple, love the iphone !
Anyone got any ideas how i can get a good deal for us both ? Can i cancel my contract with Vodafone on the premise it cant offer 4g on my current handset ??
????
Thanks guys, ideas appreciated

Where to start.
If you want to leave vodaphone then you will have to do that in Feb. If you are upgrading then you may get an early upgrade deal in Nov but that is only for upgrades I suspect.
Make sure you get the iphone unlocked from vodaphone and there is no problem putting any network sim in it.
If you are getting an iphone make sure that you know which network you are going to as the different iphone are not necissarily compatible with each networks 4g frequency.
No you can't cancel your contract with vodaphone based on the fact that your phone won't support 4g. (At least without buying yourself out of the contract)“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -
if you want 4g and apple, you dont really have a choise. It will have to be the iPhone 5 on EE.
unless you want to wait for the new iPhone to come out which might be compatible with other networks
you can get a new phone on contract any time you want, but you will still have to pay vodafone until feb0 -
Apple has officially announced that September 10 will be the date it launches its much anticipated new iPhone 5s. No detail yet as to bands covered in the UK, but it's a safe bet it will cover the Vodafone and O2 4G frequencies.
The current iPhone 5 already covers 4G used by EE and the proposed 4G with Three.
So, just wait a week and see what's available in the UK...
Regarding SIM only vs. contract, given the volatile nature of the networks as they start to roll out 4G, the safe bet is a 30 day rolling SIM only deal.0 -
Thanks for your input.

i think thats the point, 4G wasn't around and isn't compatible with your phone, so using that as a reason to terminate your contract free of charge is just silly.
the reason iPhone 5 users were having help is because the iPhone 5 is a 4G phone, but not compatible with some networks.
whereas the 4S is not 4G on any network0
