I hope you all had a good Christmas day and that today you are taking it easy.
Yesterday was probably one of the best Christmas days I have had. It was the first time we've been out for Christmas lunch in a restaurant, the food was fantastic. There were a few mutters round the table about the lack of bread sauce [there was bread sauce, just not in a two pint jug :rotfl:] DS1's fiance and DS3's girlfriend joined us. It was an afternoon filled with silly jokes and laughter. The presents were low cost but thoughtful and suitable for the person they were bought for. I'd asked them not to spend money as all are finding money tough, it was so much better for it. I have horrible feeling that I drank a bottle of prosecco all by myself:beer::o I am definitely going to use my sealed pot money to put towards doing it again next year.
Afterwards we staggered over to my Mum and Dad for a cup of tea and more laughter. In all I had a magic Christmas.
Today I am happily by myself, a day off work:T I've sorted a few things out, moved stuff from where it got put on moving day to where it seems to belong. As the sun was shining I took Colin out in his harness againHe still refused to walk in it, but at least this time he was sitting looking round rather than playing dead on the path. I then took him back and had a cup of coffee on the back door step whilst he sat just inside the back door, still wearing the harness, eventually he ventured out onto the top step and sat looking around,
Bubble and Squeak for dinner tonight, possibly my favourite meal ever:T Then back to work tomorrow for the day shift, it can't possibly be as bad as Christmas Eve, can it?Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Excellent - glad you had such a great day.
I think that Colin is doing quite well actually. At least is surveying his surroundings and taking it all in rather making a bolt for it and getting confused. Maybe just ket him venture outside when he is really hungry (!!) and expecting food to appear - he'll return!0 -
Good hear that you had such a nice Christmas - and hopefully Colin will feel more at home outdoors soon.0

Well done on getting Colin outside and continuing to establish yourself in your new home.

What happened on Xmas Eve??
Christmas Eve I did a lunchtime spread for 30  It was just as well I went in early as I had an unexpected order for 20 bacon sandwiches and 5 sausage sandwiches . After serving up the lunch I had to help work the bar [there were only two of us] then after 3:30pm I was on my own to clear up and cash up. All in a day's work - not......

Flooding? That's awful. Are you covered for it with your insurance? Hope you've got electricity now.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

I'm back on the straight and narrow with regards to my Alzheimers diet, OK, nearly back two shortbread biscuits fell into my mouth
I've spent nearly an hour setting up the highly complex wristband pedometer thingy I got for Christmas, it is far cleverer than me that's for sure. It talks to my laptop and records for posterity the lack of exercise I do everyday
Tonight's dinner consisted of leftover bean chilli, very nice too. Funny how some things taste better for maturing in the fridge for a day or so.
Another £3 has hit the whiskey jar, definitely saving towards going out for Christmas lunch next year. The sealed pot challenge is a fairly painless way of saving a couple of hundred pounds. I'll worry about changing it up laterTotal debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
