Oh Piq, do you have electric fencing for the boys? If so get the cattle version of battery to delivery a good thwack of shock if not can you add a single strip to the top of the fencing to deter climbers?
Also you can get via the police an ear busting alarm if someone tries to get into the feed shed etc with a remote alarm to your house (we have these when hay nicking started in a earnest here, scare the bejesus out of you but worth the hassle of replacing expensive hay stores!)
Let the farmer know and nd others local to the field so you can get people keeping an eye out. Second horse watch and also make sure police know there are horses involved.
Look to your house, get the police to comment on security there (or a local reformed tea leaf!) you can get DIY alarm for windows and so on. The screw locks for windows are very efficient and cheap. If you have a driveway the consider farm gate alarm for when people come up the drive (I know costs but peace of mind is paramount)
Also make sure you have lighting that comes one when you get close
Second the idea of leave the car if possible. Sometimes by making it "right" oddly minded individuals can redouble their efforts to ensure you are noticing their overtures can you consider one of the cameras that sits in cars and records so you can catch the !!!!!! in the act? Does have too be long recording just say 8 hours and then over write the data with option to download it if you see anything suspicious? Police might assist with a loan?
Is there anyone you can swap cars with for a while?
Do keep coming back and posting,we are here to support anyway we can. So here is some virtual cake and wine

Oh Piq
Can't believe that this has reared it's ugly head again after things were definitely on the up for you.
As mentioned we're all here for you in whatever capacity you need.
I would second everything that missrlr has said as it seems to cover everything especially letting the Farmer know what's going on and the neighbours.
Hugs from me and sproglet.

Thank you everyone I so appreciate your support and friendship, much needed at the moment.
Nothing has happened. No more damage to the car, I haven't been followed and I certainly vary my route home in the dark
The car has to be fixed, as strictly speaking I could be pulled over for being a bit illegalI am being lent a car whilst it is being fixed so can relax for a few days.
The boys already have motion sensor lights on their little yard and all the fencing has electric taping (it has to anyway as the Captain is a fence gnawer )
The police have already checked out the security on the house and say it's fine. If all else fails Colin can squeak at an intruder from under the bed.
I have told work I will no longer do overtime on Sundays as the extra stress is completely unnecessary, shame about the money, but on this occasion sanity is more important.
The hole for the washing line post is now dug. Because it is a washing line I am putting up for my first DIY project it hasn't stopped raining :rotfl:So I guess you can blame the weather on me....Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
Total debt today: £0 - debt and mortgage free 29th November 2013 :T

Your sanity is most definitely the most important thing! I hope everything is sorted soon and that you will be able to relax again. Just when it seemed everything was working out well and this has to happen again. There are so many concerned people out there in the Piq family.
Take care0 -
Good plan with work, sanity is indeed more important right now!
And hooray for your washing line DIYEven if it is raining

Well done on the refusal to work Sunday. Def most important to be safe not sorry. Do you think this is somehow connected to work? A jealous co worker or friend of a or worker?
Shame about the legality of the car necessitating a repair. Perhaps Captain can chew interlopers?
As for the weather, well stops me having to complete daft ideas like spring cleaning, washing of net curtains, washing of throws and generally being far too enthusiastic about household chores so carry on m'dear!
Hope this weekend is without incident x xStart info Dec11

Piq - so glad to see you posting
Agree with the gang that sanity is preferable to salary, all the time. But know that things weren't supposed to be like this - new chapter etc etc. But keep on keeping on. And keep on coming back to us with updates, daily-doings and daftnessfrom the Piquant Homestead
Please. Thank you
