Just had my oil tank filled, got a concern....

When I had my (2500L) tank filled, the watchman showed 10. After a few days, the triangular alarm showed.
I rang Watchman & they told me the surface of the oil was too close to the sensor for it to work.
But no- the tank hasn't exploded and nor is oil pouring out the top!
I've had the Watchman switched off over the summer and won't start using it again till the boiler's been running a while. It's only there as a guide anyway.0
