Just had my oil tank filled, got a concern....

2500L tank, remote 'Watchman oil level plug thing in kitchen. We have only ever put 500L or 1000L maximum in the tank previously. This time we got 2000L. Before delivery, we knew there was some oil in the tank but not exactly how much, the Watchman thing was showing '1' with a flashing light, after delivery it shows 'F'…

When I had my (2500L) tank filled, the watchman showed 10. After a few days, the triangular alarm showed.

I rang Watchman & they told me the surface of the oil was too close to the sensor for it to work.

But no- the tank hasn't exploded and nor is oil pouring out the top!

I've had the Watchman switched off over the summer and won't start using it again till the boiler's been running a while. It's only there as a guide anyway.
