Agree with those that say it is an open forum and each has their individual opinion.
ALMAc .... are you an employee of Halifax???
To update....
today I received a call from Halifax's customer relations department. They have apologised for their numerous errors on this occasion and have agreed compensation with me.
I still could not recommend anyone to use the Halifax and I still feel that their timescale to sort out problems is far too long. I know that my problems with the Halifax are not unique but likewise I am sure that there must be people somewhere that are happy with their experience.
If you are one of those that is happy with Halifax then good luck but for me there are far more professional companies out there to do business with. The benefit of good interest on a couple of thousand in the current account would in no way would compensate me for the problems that I personally encountered.0 -
I've used the account switching process a couple of times with different banks and each time there have been numerous mess ups. Best way to do it is to have another account running along your main current account. Put a bit of £ in it and set up a small DD or standing order to your main account (for about £1).
Then when these offers come up offering you cash to switch to them, just give them the details of your dormant account with the one DD, then it's a case of: so what if/when they mess it up.
or just open the new account and do the switching yourself, and make sure you have enough cash to fund a decent balance in both accounts until the process is sorted. To be honest if you haven't got enough cash to do that then for me it wouldn't be worth the hassle.0 -
