someone keeps dialing the wrong number

  • You could try dialling the number she's trying to get through to and if it's a friend/relative gently explain the problem and ask them to have a word and sort it out?

i would do that and have asked to do that but she wont give the full number, just keeps saying its start with 6 and the rest is f all to do with me.

my homephone provider has said they will monitor the line for 5 days, and see if the can intercept the incoming number and have a chat with her.

they want £55.50 to bar the number completely wich im not paying to do.
  • I have had this phone at my house for 2 years now - Panasonic KX-TG8062EB (duel set is £49 on amazon at the moment)

Ive blocked all Spammers on the list it stores - Think I have 10 numbers on there.

When they call now my phone doesn't ring and they get a dead tone.
    Works for me :)

They have stopped ringing now as you can check the logs to see if anyone called and I've not seen one in a few month.

Buy a new phone - one with built in call blocking, such as Panasonic.

    As above.
We have a Panasonic DECT cordless and it has the call barring facility. It does require caller ID but as you already have that, you'd just need to buy the phone. We don't use the barring, but just tried it with my mobile. The cordless phone(s) didn't ring at all, the standard phone we have as a backup on the same line just rang once. The mobile sounded just like somebody picking up the phone and hanging up. On the phone's call list, you still see the number that has called with a red X next to it, to indicate it was barred.
You could get a pair of Panasonic DECT phones for less than your provider wants to block the one number!

I used to have similar from an old lady, when my son was a toddler. She eventually ended up just spending time talking to me,about being a mum and whatever else she felt like.Just turned out to be a lonely old lady who just wanted anybody to talk to.I felt quite sorry for her and she asked if she could keep in touch!

BT 6510 arrived today. Currently charging so i hope they work. A chance to block all those pesky calls.

  • I know how you feel. I've received calls like that too, and it's annoying when you can't make them stop. But be aware that you can easily contact your telephone service provider and have them block the caller from making future calls. That should help.
  • I'm wondering. Did you try look up the caller's phone number at Callercenter to find out who's behind the calls? The website does not only share information about the most recent scams but it also provide the most accurate details.
