New TSB Debit Cards

Its not embossed so can't be used on a zipzap machine, so less exposure to fraud.
Click-clack machines are as remote a possibility for fraud purposes as it is possible to be. I've never, ever, once heard about fraud committed using one. Ever.
Now the big unencrypted magnetic stripe on the back may be more of a concern

Plus sometimes car rental companies still use a Click-Clack machines when you take the car (Its for a backup, they still swipe/insert it through as well). Although I'd never use a debit card on a car rental anyway. In some ways I do prefer the non-embossed numbers simply because the numbers don't rub off.0 -
I actually prefer Santanders Online card. I have one on my Zero Account
It works everywhere (Trains Planes Pay at pump)

Santander have two offline cards and 1 type of online card.
Offline embossed and offline unembossed and then unembossed online.
You will have the unembossed offline.0 -
I have an online card with my Barclays Cash Card account and it does work on trains - I've used it twice successfully now. I cant say I've ever tried my RBS one but its definitely an online one. I had about a 6 month row with A&L about my card with them which they failed to tell me was online and I only discovered when I tried to buy my season ticket with it at the station...*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

Why do they have an "offline card unembossed"? As well as an embossed offline.
I think this has confused my sister she thought because the card was unembossed it was online, so it checked all her transactactions?
She went over slightly and got charged a £25 fee, think it was about £3 over. Although they did waive the fee.0 -

The unembossed cards are easier/cheaper to make, so they make that for both types. The numbers also don't rub off. She could have either.0 -

It depends on the train company. A lot of train companies are now using GPRS/3G terminals so they will work with any card as long as there is a signal. If there is not a signal then offline only cards will be the only ones to work.0 -
On their (poorly made) website all the cards shown are contactless. Should we assume that they're gonna send contactless debit cards?0

Did you read the contactless page? - http://www.tsb.co.uk/debit_cards/contactless_debit_cards.asp
Sounds the same as Lloyds, some customers will get one or you can ask for one in branch if you are eligible.
The website it not that bad, its just the old Lloyds TSB website but blue and with a different logo.0 -
I have, but it doesn't say if we get contactless by default or not. It just says that if we don't want contactless anymore, we can ask for a replacement which doesn't have the feature.
Yea, the website is the same as the old Lloyds, but that was quite bad. Half of my screen is empty. And the internet banking seems a bit bigger that the Lloyds one, although it looks nice.0
