You can't actually see the chip. What you see is the contact pads for the card reader. The one in the middle has some extra non-functional bits added to make it look like a globe.
I think you might need to put some glasses on as I can quite clearly see the chip in the middle picture.
It looks like a globe because its the chip with the contactless and nothing to do with the contact pads for the card reader.
Plus why would they want to add non functional bits to make it look like a globe.
I've uploaded a picture of 3 or my contactless cards and one non contactless one and you can see all the contactless ones look exactly like the one we all think will be TSB's contactless card.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
You can't see the chip - it's embedded in the card underneath the gold contacts. You'll have to destroy your card to see the chip.dr_adidas01 wrote: »I think you might need to put some glasses on as I can quite clearly see the chip in the middle picture.0 -

Are you aware of what an offline card is? It doesn't mean whether you are on the internet or not, just as an online card doesn't mean that you are on the internet.
An online card means that there has to be a connection between the pay terminal and the bank, which is why some cards won't work on trains/planes/toll roads for example. An offline card, also called a full authority card, means you can pay even when the chip and pin machine isn't/can't connect to your bank to check if the funds are there.
Not really sure why you closed an account because they gave you a card you can use anywhere....0 -

There's several forum user's shoulders also with a big chip on them, which I don't think are contactless either.Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right!
