Parking eye ticket

Hi all
Need some advice... We got a parking eye private ticket a while ago, got advice from friends to ignore it. Received today a letter from Northampton (CCBC) saying we now owe ticket cost, solicitor fee & court fee & if we ignore a judgement can be made against us..... What do we do?!?! Help please

What exactly do you mean by "a letter"?

Is it a claim form or a judgement?
  • hi thank you...
the latest correspondance has claim form on the top -one of the points to note states that "if you do nothing, judgement may be entered against you"

Who actually sent it? Misrepresentation is common, you should have had the ability to reject the claim and seek a hearing at your local court.

You need to either pay it or defend against the claim.
  • hi
they do make it very difficult to know who actually sent it- I believe that Parking eye's solicitor has entered a claim for the money to the court
this claim form statesthat if i disagree with the claim i must send a defence to the court within 14 days

    thnaks for help in advance

Please acknowledge the claim, you intend to defend it in full, and ask for 28 days to defend this claim. Then login into https://www.pepipoo.com and ask for help in defending this. Also make complaints to the retailer or service provider , its not Aldi is it ??

The alternative is to pay this to make it go away, up to you really as its your money, your time, and your decision really
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

The court sent it. Parking Eye lodged a claim with the court who then sent out a claim form.

Do you want to defend it and go to court?

Several threads a day like yours on here and on pepipoo forum too. Same advice as here which gives lots of advice about defences, flowing from one link:

and IMMEDIATELY NOW COMPLAIN to the landowner/retailer or if they are unhelpful, send them a Letter Before Action telling them you are intending to start a small claim against them (the retailer/landowner) for the harassment of their agent (especially if you were a paying customer). Complain and rattle their cage like people have been rattling Aldi's cage on the Aldi facebook thread about Parking Eye's aggression to customers.

It's not too late to get the retailer/landowner to cancel it if you are assertive but of course even if they say they will cancel it, you STILL have to acknowledge PE's claim and submit a defence in time anyway. And if Parking Eye are forced to cancel it by the retailer/landowner, insist that they do not allow PE to harass you for 'costs' as they have been known to try. Decline any such kind 'without prejudice' offer you may get from PE if the ticket is cancelled because the cancellation by the principal (when PE are only an agent) makes a strong defence even stronger.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • unfortunately we do not know who owns the car park - near Wembly market
Id prefer not to pay it as i feel it was unfair in that parking was free for 1 hour we were 21 min late because my 2 yr old had a toilet accident and we couldnt find a bathroom to clean him up! What money did they lose?
will defending it lead to court? if so will they be able to get anymore money out of me then they have stated in this court letter ie parking fine, solicitors fees and costs?

thanks again all for the help
