Yes I was going to suggest that too - I had a prob with my Citroen and just 'plugged' it into the passenger one until it was fixed - but I didn't have the buzzer/alarm system though.

Worth a try though!

Suppose you could even just try inserting the seatbelt into the passenger one as it is and put up with the buzz. Although this may not provide the required support in the event of an accident, especially if the belt is twisted.

Did you buy a new car? If it is a Renault dealer, it is for them to contact garages in the area to see if they can service your car or find a courtesy car for you. You are not having enjoyment of the car. Contact the Society of Motor Manufacturers and depending on your circumstances i.e. newly bought, renault dealer etc, they may be able to get this sorted for you. Ask for conciliation services.
