cancelling virgin media contract

I am enquiring on behalf of someone, who has found themselves in a very difficult position.

The person in question is disabled, has been under a lot of stress and has become unwell. They were employed but are now unable to work and have ended up in debt. There is 3 months left on their virgin contract which isn't a long time, but it is completely unaffordable for them now.

I am aware that they have entered into a contract however this is a case of not wanting to pay, this person literally has no money to eat right now, I am actually in the process of organising food bank vouchers for them. They are in no position to pay the final 3 months of the contract.

Is there any way that we can get this contract stopped without incurring any charges? This persons debt is spiralling and I am genuinely concerned about their mental state at this point as a combination of serious life events has led them to hit rock bottom.

It will be up to VM. Only way to find out is to ask them.

Has your friend had notification of the recent VM price increases?

If so , then yes , they can apparently cancel , I believe it's in the terms & conditions!

It sounds like the VM bill is the least of the worries.

See what social services can put in place etc.
