Good morning everybody,
Speedy recovery to you Molly.
House selling vibes to Camelot and I hope the missing person turns up safe and sound.
Jools-the phased return sounds very sensible.
Luxor,we moved into our house a few weeks after I left my job at school,it backs onto a school playing field, and I still get the bells as they have one outside-can usually hear the inside ones too. They always forget to switch it off for the hols, which is very annoying, especially on Christmas Day etc.Enjoy your retirement.
I've been very busy as the new puppy arrived on Sunday:j.The breeder had been let down by one couple who didnt turn up to pick theirs up,and another got sent back cos they thought he'd grow too big. They were able to see both Mum and Dad so why they didnt think that when they were choosing is a bit of a mystery.Anyway we have called her Lyla and she is very sweet but a wee and poo machine at the moment :rotfl:We didnt get Leo till he was 18 months old but I imagine he would have looked very much like Lyla as a pup,so if she grows up into a gentle giant like he was we'll be very happy
She's sleeping at the mo so I've just mopped all the floors (again:D),grabbed some tea out of the freezer, and gonna make a cuppa.A quick tidy up as a friend is coming later this morning -she has an appointment nearby so is going to call to see puppy.I need to do something with the leftover chicken and carcass too.Right better go,well wishes to everybody and good new term vibes for all those staff and students starting back.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning All
DH's first day back at work today. So things are back to normal here. DS has stripped all the beds for me and I have done two loads already and another is in the machine now, if it dries as quickly as yesterday it will be great.
I have just been out and picked some more veggies so lots more preserving to do and I need to get some ciabatta dough on the go.
Molly I hope that you are home soon x
Hester don't try to do too much yet your body has been through a lot x
I will pop back later
BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Morning all,
it seems ages since I posted on here but I have been reading.
Molly i'm thinking of you today. I hope your recovery is swift and that your out of hospital pretty soon. The only way I can sleep in hospital is if I block the whole of the room out by pulling the curtains round. Even then i'm usually wide awake by the time the medicine cabinet comes around.
News from me. Well baby Uno is being discharged from hospital in South Africa today. Unfortunately they had to admit another of their babies yesterday with a chest infection and breathing problems. I must catch up with my daughter later and see how he is.
Saturday night I had my newborn grandson to stay overnight whilst my daughter and her fiance went to a houseparty. I had him overnight so she could drink alcohol. It was the first time she had any since she found out she was pregnant and wanted to make a night of it.:D He was great till the 3am feed and found it hard to settle. I told my daughter to change the teats on his bottles as he was gulping too much air. She followed my advice and he's not as 'windy' as he was. Although I loved having him, ive slept the clock round since catching up on lost sleep.
Nowt else new really, the men are still at work. Working 10 hour shifts. Just as they get a date for the end of the job they move the goalposts he's got another month apparently. 'Youngest' is at college tomorrow enrolling for his next course. Although he hasn't necessarily enjoyed working with his Dad he's loved the work experience and the money.
My eldest dog Millie is having problems with the steps. She can manage the stairs in the house but the outside steps are a problem. I knew the remaining house bricks I didn't chuck would come in useful at some point. First thing I did this morning was build a makeshift step for her to get into the house. At the moment im having to pick her up. I need a slab now to complete the creation. Hubby will find it hilarious when he comes home and will probably pick it to pieces but at least ive done something.:)
Oh well, i'd best get on with the rest of the day.
Have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi all
Congratulations to Master Moorhen.:T
Molly hang in there, mate; it sounds awful, I must admit - I'd have been telling the lady with the mobile phone to put a blanketty-blank sock in it; I dislike being in the same room as someone using a phone at the best of times!:D
Laura healing vibes for William Cat - I know how uncomfortable cystitis can be, poor little chap.
RosyRed Lyla sounds delightful.:T
I'm sure there was more I was going to say, but it's gone clean out of my head. *rolls eyes* I'll come back it I remember what I was going to say.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Morning all,
I've had a busy morning. I've stripped my brothers bed and washed the bedding. Plan on using the old quilt on top of the mattress and buying a new warmer quilt, I'm sure he will feel the cold when he gets here and it will be much cheaper than buying the mattress topper.
I just need to give the ensuite a good clean and he should be nice and comfy.
Our lounge looks great, I'm really pleased, redruby it sounds like you've have a lot more work than us, it was pretty straightforward painting and just a couple of walls to paper. If we could only agree on what should go on the walls:eek:
The only other room that needs a titivate is the upstairs bathroom but no rush, I'd like it done before Christmas though.
Well the plan was to have fish tonight but my son has just rung to say him and his gf are coming for tea. So I shall make a big pan of tater ash instead with dumplings, cheap, cheerful and tasty. We planned to tidy up the garden at the front when hubby gets home but we will still do it they will just have to muck in.
I've already done two wash loads and they are on the line, long may this drying weather continue. I've noticed the evenings drawing in so no doubt I will be back to drying inside soon.
Have a good day all xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

I'm feeling Ozzie deprived at the moment.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
I third it. Want piccies.
Lizzie's gone home, and I've no more bookings til after our hols, so I need something to tide me over.:D
RosyRed you'll never ever replace Leo, but Lyla will certainly fill up that dog-shaped hole in your life.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Evening, just having a bit of peace and quiet on the lappie
Redruby,FurryBeastOz and LW-Ladies-regarding piccies you'll have to leave it with me as I think I'll have to set up a photobuck et account or similar to get them on here & I might need DS1s help as I'm not too technically minded. But I have charged the camera today and taken some so thats a start :)Will investigate tomorrow :)She's finding her feet a bit now,and her voice which has surprised me,they're usually quietish dogs unless they think there's a burglar. She nudged a whale shape sorter of DGD and it rocked about and she got a bit giddy.
Youre right I do still miss Leo but she is helping, thank you x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0
