  • No question is a dumb question, Alex :) and I actually think that post shows a lot of positivity. Well done.

Am doing a lot of penny-pinching myself as my beloved Corsa started its last a week or so ago and is now in the scrapyard :( OH looked at an old LR Freelander but we really don't need it - it's likely to be me buying a Punto I think!

Alex - good you can see some positive changes and good luck with all the school work. Could just imagine you yesterday as I was watching a series on Harrow on Youtube. Very jealous of their education I must say, though I don't like the privilege aspect of it either.

You know something Alex, I think you've done darn well in a year - many don't learn those lessons in a lifetime! Keep it up! :T

Don't fancy Monaco though, I'd head for the Cayman Islands in my lovely new (or even second hand, one careful owner or two) yacht!
    This one, for example...

I've been anything but positive these past few weeks but today has not been so bad.

Sorry to hear about your car. :( I wouldn't go with an older Freelander for various reasons but 200TDi/300TDi Land Rovers are great, easily fixed yourself (so therefore very MSE) and classless. Late Range Rover Classic cars had 200/300s fitted if not a V8, though they have appreciated in recent years, Discovery I values are still in the doldrums but will creep up as it's essentially a RRC underneath but boasts more space and there is of course the 90 / 100 Offender. Get that Landy bought, you know you want to. :D

    Ha ha, I'll need it.

I do understand now that I am very lucky to have had such an education. However, you seem to imagine me in various scenarios far too much, my dear girl. :rotfl:

    Why thank you, GranariesGirl. :)

As for chartering a yacht around the Caribbean, well, that's my inheritance gone within about, hmm let's see, a month.

I bought a Fiesta, and as I have to go through the hassle of taxing it myself I managed to haggle them down. :D We are hoping OH's Rover will pass it's MOT tomorrow, if not I think he wants something similar. Landy would have too high a running cost plus I wouldn't drive it :)

My husband always says if he could have any yacht in the world it would be a Camper and Nicholson 55 :) Me, well, I'd prefer this:

and if you think she looks familiar, she's the yacht used in the James Bond film, Skyfall! http://www.reginayacht.com/
