The fourth NSD was not to be. However, I reckon I've done well to get this far.
Thanks for all the advice, even if it differs from my principles. I know that I'm never going to get anywhere with my life, nor that I will be able to influence Mrs. K. but it's good to know that I am beginning to live within my means. Here's to hoping it carries on.

    Summary:
    +£60.00 Music Teaching.
    -£2.00 Bakery.

    Yours Faithfully,
    Alex.

You have done amazingly well to get this far, so
:naughty: to that bit of carp that you've posted!! The longer you go on settling debts, living within your means and changing your thinking the more you will get somewhere in your life!! You'll be more in control and feel increasingly better about yourself.

Hope you didn't spend that £2 in Greggs, only chavs go there!!;):rotfl:

P.S. Which job interview was it today for MrsK, the far afield/travelling one well paid or the closer to home one?

    Hello Alex!

I was about to go to bed after researching e-journals rather unsuccessfully when I decided to visit you :-) I had a quick read through your posts and let me tell you that you brought a smile in my face! I am also very proud of you that I want to give you a big hug for making such a big progress! For changing slowly your attitude, for becoming more optimistic and positive, for trying...just for trying...
Look at the amount of debt you have! Wow is has gone down! I am almost in as much as debt as you are oops (not panicking though :-) ) ha ha ha ...Where there is a will, there is a way!!

    Night,night and sleep tight!

Thank you. Yes, I am trying to get a grip on my finances once and for all. Would not have managed it without this diary though, which I am aware likely sounds utterly ridiculous.

    What are you researching?

I have to admit to being rather smug about that. I have not counted Mrs. K.'s spends though ...

Thank you. We'll agree to disagree about my life. Mrs. K. will do what she will regardless and I have my ups and downs meaning that I will never manage to live up to what is expected of me.

How dare you even imagine I set foot inside Greggs?:rotfl:

She was at the travelling well paid one, never seen her so eager to please before. The other one is Friday afternoon. Neither are based too far from home just the former will require quite a bit of travelling to projects abroad. Only thing she doesn't like the idea of is going to any jobs in the Middle East (there are a few), no I can't see her wearing a headscarf either and they'd get the shock of their lives if she turned up.

    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500
  • Ye cannit beat a Greggs pasty like!

Hello, despite what I said before I am still here, lurking along. :o

I am also a female construction professional, the Middle East is fab. Dubai, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, all are brilliant places to learn about the industry. I have taken student groups out there and the women I have witnessed just dress as we would here - there is no requirement / dress codes for western women, as far as I can tell. In fact the woman who worked for Nakeel, the main Dubai development company was the smartest scariest woman I have ever met - and I don't scare easy, particularly by other women.

    You are doing great.

I'm with Maman, you may not ever be able to influence Mrs. K., though most women have weak spots ;), but as for "I know that I'm never going to get anywhere with my life" do you know where you would like to go with it, that is a good first step?

“Would you tell me please, which way I ought to go from here?
That depends a good deal on where you want to get to said the cat.
I don't much care where, said Alice.
Then it doesn't matter which way you go, said the cat.
... So long as I get somewhere, Alice added as an explanation.
Oh, your sure to do that, said the cat, if you only walk long enough"

Alice in Wonderland :rotfl: x. You are doing great!

Sorry I have not responded to anyone on here. These past couple of days have just been strangely busy, it seems everybody wants to buy something at the moment.

HBS: :rotfl: You do make me laugh.

VJsmum: Thank you for the advice, it has been passed on. She has a second interview for that job.

Rainbow: Where do I want to go with my life? No idea in all honesty, not convinced I even want a life some days.

  • Thanks Alex, I have felt like that in the past too, so I can empathise with you. I am a work in progress, but beginning to see a path through the woods, that I want to follow. All the best on your journey x.
