i thin we need to see a pic of this!!!!:D

It just looks cheap and tacky!

I wouldn't give it house room.

My old boy (sadly departed) slept where he felt like it, he quite liked sleeping on the top of the tropical fish tank in winter and in the bath in the summer. At night, we fought over bed space. :)

He certainly wouldn't have appreciated this over-priced tut (to quote Lord Sugar). :rotfl:

Hades like any flat wooden surface ideally a windowsill so she can catch the sun during the day. At night she is either still on the windowsill or on the bed with me.

Megan has a box fetish she won't leave them alone and gets very territorial over her boxes. She has two apple crates one in the kitchen one in my room but she also likes OH's pillow on the bed

Sophie also like flat wooden surfaces and can normally be found near or around Hades (she's like a little shadow)

Lucy-Fur likes the wardrobe top in amongst the cuddly toys she buries herself right down but again will often end up on the bed at night

Abby just likes the bed that's her place within 5 minutes of getting into bed she is up on it asking for fuss

Ziva likes the fridge top or a pile of clean washing that's just come out of the tumble dryer she makes a nest in the middle if the pile covered in clothes.

The others like the fridge top too but Ziva is nearly always up there

I use to buy cat beds years ago but try just don't use them. The worst is when OH is home for the night and all 6 decide to sleep on the bed :(

  • For me the "expensiveness" of things depends on how much dis-possible income you have and your priorities.

I recently bought a pair of £90 nike wedge trainers many people would say they were expensive including a colleague of mine who never spends more than a tenner on shoes, but I had the money for them I've not used bill/rent money etc so I bought them.

If you can afford it why not.

You're comparing a pair of £90 trainers that will probably be comfortable & do the job they were designed for & be superior to a pair costing £10 and a cat bed costing £2000 when - as a lot of cat-owners will know - the cat will sleep where it damn well likes?

Not exactly similar purchases, are they? :rotfl:

the principle is the same if you have the money why not spend it on something expensive.

I happily spent 90 on trainers my colleague on the other hand thought I was mental.

You'd be a fool to pay for that! I bought my kitten a lovely bed when I first got him. He used it once so it was cleaned up and given to Cats Protection.

He tends to be found sleeping in the dogs bed (poor dog then sleeps on the floor :p) or on a hay bale in the barn. He also likes the office chair.

I don't think the principle is the same.

I get the difference between the £90 pair of Nikes and a £10 pair.

I can get the difference between an authentic Prada bag and a fake one and can understand someone with a lot of disposable income paying for that (though I wouldn't).

I can get someone wanting to buy a pedigree Persian/Siamese rather than a rescue cat (though I wouldn't do that either).

I just can't get someone spending £2000 on a cat bed that is very unlikely to be used.
I'm sure even a pedigree cat owner would agree.

You can get floor-to-ceiling cat beds-!!!-adventure poles which cost far less than the tacky £2000 model.

Only somebody with too much disposable income and zero taste would buy that bed.

Surely it's all about the happiness of the pet rather than the pet being seen as a status symbol. Right?

My (8 yr old ) niece said she would sell me her book case cube for £5 then I'd just need cushions lol A money saver in the making ! I'm learning a lot about littys thank to all who have helped on my other thread , I now know she prefers the cardboard box that her scratch post came in to the actual scratch post and as for all the toys she has been given , she prefers cellophane sheets and rolled up tin foil ! An mse kitty lol

My old boy's favourite 'toy' was a piece of dried spaghetti twist.

He'd come running into the kitchen as soon as he heard the rattle of spaghetti being poured into the weighing scales bowl and he'd stand on his hind legs begging for a piece.

He'd bat it across the tiled kitchen floor, chase after it doing forward rolls and occasionally toss it into the air and catch it.
He sounded like a baby elephant careering about - he was a big cat and lacked any sense of finesse or daintiness.

The game ended when he lost it under the fridge or washing machine.

I think we should ask our cats what they'd prefer to play with and sleep in/on - they obviously know best. :)

It's personal taste someone will like it, and this item is not just for the purpose of a cat bed it is a functional room divider and bookcase I think the fact is can be used for cats is incidental given that it is listed as a room divider not a cat bed specifically.

I still think if you've got the money and you like it/want it then buy it.
