Water supply cover by Homeserve? Is it worth it? I have buildings and contents with Admiral platinum. Just want to see if its a waste of money getting it?

Are you willing to self insure? I would...the number of claims are very low and the value of a claim isn't really that high.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

We've just had a leak in the supply pipe which has been sorted out very painlessly by one phone call to my buildings insurance provider. It's cost my excess which has worked out at about the same price as a couple of years of water pipe insurance premiums - do you need to be doubly insured?
Generally I would just put the premiums away in a separate bank account and draw on it in the case of a problem. The sheer number of insurances that I get offered - appliances, mobile phone, water pipes etc could easily cost me £200+ a month = £2400 a year, that's a lot of money to give away for no apparent benefit.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
