young/inexperienced ? i am over 30 with 6 year NCB. I don't drive like a hooligan and average 4000 miles a year. They sold me a policy with the device having the effect of lower premiums each year. They lied

They didnt lie. They did exactly what they said they would do.

Whether they misled you is an interesting question. Did they make claims of lower premiums after knowing you had six years of NCB and drove 4000 miles a year or were you relying on generic descriptions without considering whether your own circumstances fit the criteria for those who could save money?

Well i chose the policy online and went through the finer details with the the sales team. I clearly stated the fact of my age/NCB and they recommended this as the only option available with significant savings the longer you stay with them and the telematic reports stay within good/excellent. It is not accurate in any way as i see it now, as there are probably more motorists who don't have telematic's or insurer's opt-out. Until this becomes compulsory for all new car's and insurer's to fit out then it will never provide the benefit's. Lesson learned. never again, move on..
