I find having a big old volvo estate, with proper decent bumpers, and a tow bar really helps in situations like this Never get blocked in.

Think OP has acted very reasonably in going back to check and there isnt anything more to do. I wouldnt report it to insurers, as they'll still add a marker to your file for nothing
