I'm going to turkey and my suitcase if full, and it's probably a bit bob on the weight.
but I've got 10 kgs of hand luggage, I usually take a large handbag with my passports, tickets money etc in.
But this time i'm taking gluten free flour for a friend of ours, but I was thinking of buying 5 bags, could I put these in my hand luggage.
Or would this have to go in my suitcase.
thanks

Not a thing I would do myself after watching "Midnight Express" .
You sure you cannot buy that in Turkey ?"Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain."

Taking 5 kilos of a white powdery substance to Turkey. Get your excuses ready for when you are stopped...because you will be!0 -
Madness :eek:0

You'll be fine
If they pull you and think it's suspicious, they'll simply test it and you'll be on your way in no time.
Being stopped and having it checked isn't likely to happen though.0 -
I once flew from Goa-Mumbai-Heathrow (bus to Stanstead) - Alicante with a kilo of gram flour in my rucksack - this was easily 10 years+ ago it and it wasn't easily obtainable in the UK back then. I didn't want to put it in my suitcase in case the bag broke, so put it in the bottom of my rucksack and never thought anything more about it until I was on the plane to Alicante. It was just in a clear plastic bag, no label or anything. I didn't get stopped, but wouldn't chance it now!0

You can put it in your hand luggage, no problem - as long as you don't go over the permitted weight for the airline. Customs in Turkey might want to test it, but then again they might not. I'm assuming you'll bring the GF flour in its original packaging (easiest way to carry it) and if you bring the receipt too, you're on to a winner0

well all i can say is i flew back from dominican republic with some little glass bottles with dominican sand in as a souvenir,
it was picked up when the bags were scanned and my bags were searched until the bottles were found, opened and inspected.0 -
The scaremongering by some posters is unreal! The OP is bringing some GF flour, not A-Grade drugs! If the flour gets tested, it gets tested. It takes no time at all.
OP, take your flour with you. You've got nothing to hide (I'm presuming).0
