Nope - just log on as and when you want. I think they just ask to give them an idea of roughly how much cover they need & they'll sometimes text you if it's really busy (though that hasn't happened for weeks - bit quiet at the moment), but there's no set times.

Best time to make money seems to be between 10 & 12 at night, especially on Fridays & Saturdays, lots of questions to answer then.

Be prepared for it to take you a while to get up to speed too - I've been doing it a couple of months now & I'm still finding my feet.

You text them a question and they answer it, I'm hoping to become a 'textpert' which quite a few on here are. You basically sit at your computer and get sent questions that people have text in and you have to research the answer (google it!) and send a response which will go to the person who asked the question's mobile as a text.

I've got a migraine today ............ so won't be able to do any clicking on here later BUT the good news is I do not return to work now until Monday so I can catch up with this challenge.

Last night I was super organised and after reading the local paper stories about the new Harry Potter book I shared my experience. I pre-ordered it on 10th April and it did not arrive on Saturday as promised, nor yesterday so I penned a piece entitled "Tescos fails to deliver Harry Potter magic" and today I was interviewed by the local paper and then the photographer took photos of my DD3 by a postbox looking sad as her belated birthday present book had not arrived. Anyway, later this PM the book did arrive and then 20 minutes later a phone call from Tesco HO apologising profusely, saying they would refund the whole book order to my bank card and they will send a written apology and a gift card for DD3 to use in store to buy herself a book/item of her choice. I have updated the newdesk so not sure if they will feature the story now or not.

    My head is now pounding

Sorry about the migraine ( I get them all the time and now take tablets every day as a preventative so I know whereyou are) but Fab news about Tesco, I always like to make a point of saying a big thanks when things go right or I get a little extra help but I also believe in complaining when things go wrong. And you have just proved again that complaining nicely and calmly is the best way and you can sometimes get fab results

I've just filled out my AQA application form, which was the easy bit - I've now got to try and do the test...how the hell should I know 'how do I dump Mary' or 'how many cd cases would it take to cover Canada'

Doc, I might need your help if you have any time spare later, pretty please :)

I've already failed this once, this is my last go I reckon

Plus if I do manage to get it and I like doing it I'm thinking of giving up work or going part time in a few months and I'd like to do this to earn some money to make it feasible.

:rotfl: unfortunately you've got to use summat like 120 odd letters so that wouldn't be long enough, I like your style though! Maybe I could add that to the end!

I should be around on and off for most of the afternoon/evening today so I'll try to help if you're stuck Jo.

To start you off, a quick search on wikipedia for canada reveals that it has an area of 9,984,670km² or 9,984,670,000m²; google "cd case size" and you find out that a standard CD case is rougly 12cm x 14cm or 0.0168m².

So 9,984,670,000 / 0.0168 = 594,325,595,239 cd cases required to cover canada  (the windows calculator is good for working with long numbers)

As for how to dump mary (poor mary :p), have a read through the AQA guidelines, but the jist of it is that answers should be positive and definitive. i.e. say how and say why, but keep it upbeat.
