Just found this post lurking on page five
Ok, so sat at my desk and just watched one of the residents (it's a private complex) leave a golf bag by the recycling bins ready for the bin men....do I go get it and see if it's ebayable?? Or am I taking this too far!!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Go for it!
One man's trash is another man's treasure - surely it'll be worth a few quid on ebay?!
Edit: might be an idea to be ninja-like and stick to the shadows so you're not seen scavenging from bins at work :rotfl:Proud to be dealing with my debts - DFW Nerd #4910 -
no, go and get it!!!
QUICK jo QUICK:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

I got it! Just hoping he doesn't have a change of heart cos the bin men don't come till the morning
I can't believe he's chucked it, there's nothing wrong with it, it's a Callaway one so hopefully should go well on ebay. Only problem will be storing it away from dh in case he decides he wants it! I've already got 3 bags of clubs cluttering my hallway!
Next thing, how do I get it home on the tube in rush hour
I think maybe I'll leave it at work and ebay it in my lunch break tomorrow, hence dh won't see it and I'm near to the post office hereDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -

Well done, Jo!
DH and I are great ones for 'finding' good stuff put out for the binmen. Or rather we used to be when we had the black-bag system and people left extra stuff out at the kerbside. Now we have 3 different wheelie bins people seem to stash things away more as nothing left out extra to the bins is taken away.
I once had an embarrassing experience by being a bit hasty picking something up. A house in the next village that had just been sold and I thought looked uninhabited had loads of good stuff on the grass verge by the road alongside about 8 black bin bags of(I assumed) rubbish as it was refuse collection day. I didn't look in any of the bags but spotted a brand-new looking red metal single headboard among the pile. Just the thing for the bedroom where my teenage nephew sleeps when he visits. So I put it in my car and came home. About 10 minutes later the owner came ringing the bell. She'd seen me from an upstairs window and recognised me and came for the headboard back:eek: . Apparently she'd put the stuff out for a charity to collect as her refuse had already been collected and she'd assumed it would be safe! Imagine my embarrassment:o . I'm so glad they moved away, I couldn't have faced her if I'd seen her on a regular basis in the village. By the way, I gave it back to her with a red face and lots of grovelling. Certainly taught me a lesson:rolleyes:0 -
Good luck Jo
Spelling, grammar and letter count are most important - make sure you use as much of the allowance as possible (even if it's using several words where one would do & not really adding any value - though obviously add extra 'WOW!' info wherever you can).
Also, some of the questions have no right answer - How many baked beans fit in a swimming pool of x, y, z dimensions? springs to mind. I found out how many beans in the average can (Google & Wikipedia are my new best friends), the volume of the average can, the volume of the quoted swimming pool, and estimated from there.
Don't worry too much about the timings either, I applied a little creative licence to mine  (obviously I didn't just write that, it didn't happen, and you haven't seen me. Roight?)

lol Impomdasp :rotfl: poor you, sorry you got me giggling :rotfl:
Dr, Oh you AQA? I was about to post a new thread but didn't really wanna so I'll ask you instead! I remember on the forms they ask how many hours you want to work. I want to do evenings and weekends but if it's fruitful I might consider full time as I wanna stay at home with the kids. Tell me, do you have set hours you have to work or is it a case of logging on and the work comes in?DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0
