Poor you Lynz - I hope your migraine goes quickly - I have a free eye test coupon if you want it (Boots)?

I haven;'t seen much at Quidco - just car source and kelkoo. Greasypalm I need to get back into - got annoyed when they removed some of my earnings as it had been so long since I'd been active - grrr.

actually dont bother with test and vote they are only paying u in prize draw tickets.... yeh right!!!

They pay you in points which you can put towards prize draw tickets OR save up to exchange for gift vouchers for places like HMV and stuff.
If you do their emailed and mini surveys it does add up after a while, is a bit of a slow one though.

    Hi Lynz

AFAIK you need to deposit your own cash at bookies to qualify the freebies - don't think there are any with no deposit required (though I'd love to know if there are! :D)

That said, I made £30ish profit out of Coral using only £20 of my own money (plus £50 cashback via Quidco).

Dr Hook is right. You do need to use your own money first. Coral really is the easiest one as you don't need hight odds for it so no need for a high betfair balance.

I'm making a quiet note of all this matched betting stuff. Once my wages start coming in from my new job I might give it a dabble. Coral is in capital letters at the places I should look first! lol
Just tried a free trial of Bingo Cafe, didn't win (surprise).

Yeah I'm the same. I trying to read the posts on matched betting yesterday and got thoroughly confused (I think, maybe I'm confused about being confused!!!). Am I right in thinking that I sign up with Coral then place a bet on a team to win, then go to betfair and place same amount on the same team but not to win (as opposed to losing) and see what happens? As for all the other stuff you're all doing, well done. I'm sat here sort of seeing my lightbulb moment but too scared to face it and there's no way I could achieve the sort of challenge you're all doing   :wall:

Hey, you are in the right place to face it! There are so many people in a similar situation so try not to worry. Best thing for you to do is have a look at the Debt-Free Wannabe thread, post your SOA there and get some advice on what you can do to help you out a bit!
You'll soon come round to things and make the challenge of reducing your debt a bit more fun than stressful!

As for matched betting, I think thats what I thought you did but I was pretty sure you could do both bets with the same company? I dunno, lol!

no def don't do both bets with the same company. they don't like that at all!! And they might ban you and you may lose your winnings. You couldn't lay a team not to win at Coral again though. You could back the other team to win, but you could lose both bets if it's a draw. Betting on a football match has 3 outcomes - win lose or draw. By laying you make it 2 outcomes. You bet to win at one and bet not to win, (either draw or lose, the team you bet didn't win in either of these) at betfair (laying).

You've got the idea right though. if you're nervous then I would hang fire till more football comes back on the scene as that is really the best thing to start off with. Don't do tennis or horse racing or others till you feel much more confident. It is tricky to get your head round, but don't give up on it.
