There's no mention of a service history that I can see? Although possibly the garage staff just spent too long 'designing' their horrible website to put this in... Does it have the 1.4 TSI engine?
What attracts you to this car? It seems like quite a lot of money to me, for a car that doesn't seem too special.
If you want a VAG car, I'd check out what Seat and Skoda have to offer. £6k would also buy you a decent Ford Focus.0 -

Its the OH that has his heart set on a Golf. (Seems he had one 18 years ago! Perhaps he's trying to recapture his youth).
Other than that I have no idea why that model. He's just seen it and decided to have another look at it tomorrow. That's why I'm asking for opinions really as neither of us are really savvy when it comes to cars.0 -
The Golf is a solid little car, the only thing I would say is the S trim level is a little sparse. Have a look and see if there are any SE models available round your budget.0
