Which savings account will pay you higher interest than the Santander 123?

My loyalty saver with Nationwide pays me the same.
They have lots of branches and their customer service is excellent.
i am not fan of Santander i dont care how high their rates are advertised at, they will claw it back some other way.

Are you sure? Highest Loyalty Saver rate according to their site is 2.1% AER (no longer on sale, of course).

I doubt that. Even before the rate cuts, 15 years of loyalty was worth 2.6%. Now its worth just 2.1%

The highest Loyalty Saver interest rate currently available is 1.7% for customers that have been with Nationwide for over 15 years, for new customers it's a very disappointing 1.4%. It would be rather foolish to pass up Santander's 3% in favour of an account paying less than half that, even more so when you factor in the cashback. I'm also not clear how suggesting Nationwide to a poster who is having problems with Nationwide helps
  • Op is with Smile.

i am always sure when it comes to my money. I get 3%, they sorted it out for me in branch.

Must be my power of persuasion!

When you say you are going to put your money elsewhere they often come up with a better deal.

You should try it. : -)

Can you share some more details on how you persuaded Nationwide to pay you 3% for your loyalty saver? When did you strike the deal? How long does it last for? How long have you been a Nationwide customer? How much money is in the loyalty saver? Which Branch gave you the deal?
  • Those details are off post, sorry.

Nightmare continues. Still no direct debits set up and have had the first of what I predict will be many emails texts and letters from poll saying they haven't been paid I thought switches could be sorted in 7 days now? No reply from Santander secure messaging as to what's going on
