  • Thanks. Can't still quite believe it still. All for the price of a stamp. This refund will make a such a big difference to my finances and life. Fingers crossed the 4 week wait for cheques flies by :-)
  • Still no sign of cheques :(

Called them again apparently on their way. Said something about them going to different offices to get checked before posted out.
  • Well if the date you receive the payment is more than 28 days after the date of the FRL, you can ask for an extra 8%.

An extra 8% what? You certainly can't ask for an extra 8% interest!

Do you mean you can ask for further interest to cover the delay, perhaps?

Sorry, not clear, The o/p should be able to get an extra 8% interest for the period of delay.

My understanding is that the FRL quotes interest to a date, 28 days from when written. If you do not receive the refund by that date, then you can ask for extra interest for the period after the date quoted to when you received the refund.

    Am I incorrect in this.?

The OP will receive interest for the period of the delayed payment, paid at the agreed 8% rate. They won't receive an extra 8% interest!
  • Still no sign called again Monday said cheques were issued on 17th and would take 10 days from then. My reckoning means today should have been last day to expect them.

Sorry to hear this, never known them to take this long, ask them for the 8% up to the date they sent the cheques, knowing them they may have calculated this to allow for the delay.

Thanks, it is starting to look like a nightmare. Will ring them again once postie has been. Surely even if I posted offer back on 30th sept the cheques should be here by now even if they are saying they didn't receive it till 7th oct.

Can't believe it is taking so long. Especially when i was told they would speed it up what with them making an error with first offer. RBS and MBNA were much quicker.
