They will send you 2 cheques, one for the refund and one for the 8%.
You would have received a rebate of this PPI when you settled, the remaining PPI would have been repaid by you in the settlement figure, the rebate could be a loan adjustment amount, see what they send you, it will still be a tidy amount.
:j Love a win with FP :j:j well done.

Thanks for this. Wonder why in the refund calculation they have put £0 on less early settlement figure. I'll see if I can find the settlement figure in my remortgage paperwork. Tbh at the time I was just glad to get rid of them.

I don't know why to be honest the early settlement is 0, see what they send you.
They used to do the rebate of PPI to the rule of 78, it is possible you did not get a rebate or a very small one, this company work like that.

Must be nice to be rid of them, let us know what you get.

You should have received it by now, give them a call and ask.

    :j Brilliant x
  • I just knew it.

Rang again as still no sign of cheques and apparently claim offer had been miss calculated so a new offer letter is being sent to me. Guy on phone couldn't tell me what the error was or how much new refund is. I just knew it was too good to be true.
  • New offer letter arrived today.

    A original PPI 11,061.15
    B. Interest 4,003.81
    C. Less early settlement. 2444.51. This is what they missed in 1st offer
    D less any claims 0
    E total refund 12,620.45

Plus 8% interest 5973.70 less tax of 1194.74 is 4778.96

So not as much as first offer but still better than I imagined. Let's hope I get cheques this time and hopefully before Christmas

Still a nice tidy sum though for writing a letter and you did get a rebate before, I could not work out why they omitted the rebate on the first offer, it is a pity they realised but had they not, you would have had to repay this eventually so with what you have and the rebate this is brilliant :D and better in your pocket than First Plus ;) you should not have to wait too long now for the cheques x
