Mortgage free by 50...

  • Been a while since I last did this...

    £259 overpayment, so £51 k left.
Priorities have changed now, so building up savings.
Taking in a lodger (moves in today) because now on temporary contract at work...
  • Hope all goes well with the lodger, I had one for over a year and it definitely helped me keep afloat of mortgage payments at a time when my income was quite low.
  • First post for nearly 3 years... where does the time go...

Now have just over £24,000 to go on mortgage. Am on a 1 year fixed-term contract and am going to move house next year (to Devon - somewhere not far from Exmouth, where I've got family).

Am going to buy a place for cheaper than I get for my current place.

No more overpayments planned before house move.

Many thanks to those who have made encouraging comments on here - I look forward to encouraging other mortgage-free wannabes myself in future.
