LW, you might like this, my DD1's is a dog lover and has 2 dogs, DD2 is not keen, not unkind, but disinterested. Bowing to family pressure (husband and 3 children) DD2 agreed to get a dog, she saw one that needed a home via a friend of a friend. Went to visit the dog, paid a tenner for it even though it wasn't what she wanted just to get it away from a very inadequate home. within 10 minutes she decided to keep the dog, 6 weeks in she is totally besotted and I can't say I blame her. She's had her spayed, chipped & innoculated, she's probably a parsons JR cross with a chihuahua, about 3 years old, never been outside before and is loving her new life. She's wonderful with the children, if she gets tired she goes to her bed and they know to leave her alone. A very happy ending.
Aww, that's lovely.:T Mr LW is the same - he'd never had anything really to do with dogs, and if we're honest, was a little nervous of them. He agreed to us becoming dog-sitters really for my benefit, but he loves it now.:o If I'm feeling rough, or we have two dogs and he's available to help, he'll do "walkies" and even if there's just one dog and I'm reasonably OK, he'll come along for the exercise. He was really good about having Mary here, with all her problems, and didn't mind cleaning up after her (ie replacing soggy newspaper);). I hope your DD's new family member has a long and happy life in her new home. :o
Well I decided that as I feel a bit better I'd get dressed as I've been slobbing around in a nighty for the last 6 weeks, not the same nighty, I have 4 that are washed and worn in rotation. Anyway, went upstairs for a wash & brush up, decided to wear a skirt and tshirt as I only have one dress. got tshirt on, pulled up skirt, zipped it up, straightened up, skirt fell to the floor! Scrap that idea, put on dress, note to self, need to visit charity shops to buy more dresses before return to work. I have very few dresses as I'm short waisted and tend to look like a sack of spuds tied up ugly in them, so it could be a challenge finding something to wear. I suppose I could buy braces to keep my skirts up and start a whole new fashion.
:rotfl:Sorry, that just made me crease up!:o Fwiw I don't even own a nighty, or any PJs. If ever I had to go to hospital, I'd have to get Mr LW to get some of his old PJs out of the loft!:rotfl:
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Morning all, bright and breezy here in thanet. The wind is cool in the shade.

BM on and making Italian flat bread by hand too. Pottering about sort of day, I love those! Going through some old mags and cutting out what I want before I pass them on.

Hugs to those who need them ,have a great weekend all

  • LW, I didn't have any nightwear either, DD2 had to rush to Tesco to buy me some. Fortunately they were £8 for 2, reduced to £6 a pack.
That was just the first of many expenses my ill health incurred, we really need to tighten our belts in the forthcoming months.
    Chin up, Titus out.

    Afternoon all,

Yesterday's visit from the needle nurse went well and I administered my first dose of the new medication. Not very painful but rather tingly afterwards. No negative reaction this morning - and I just feel better than I have for ages - I don't care if I've persuaded myself, I'm enjoying it :p.

So far today I've done a recycling trip with junk from the garage, bought the week's groceries from Mr S, brought in the washing and made lunch. This afternoon I shall knit :o.

Lovely to read all the OS efforts, I was inspired to meal-plan for the week and make a shopping list.

    Have a good day all!
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

Didn't use my tumble dryer today, did two loads of towels each on a quick wash (but still at 40 degrees I admit...) and then hung them out to dry in the lovely sunshine.

Popped some blackberries we picked in the freezer for a future crumble.

Got a free newspaper in Waitrose as I spent over five pounds buying some fruit we needed. Also picked up a free take away Early grey tea with my Waitrose card.

Used my Lemon and Ginger tea bags twice as Twinings is expensive :-s

Weighed the children's breakfast cereal so I didn't over pour.

Weighed half the washing liquid suggested on bottle for my washing.
  • We didn't find many blackberries, a lot are still in flower so we are going again next week. There were plenty of beech nut trees and they are laden with nuts, but again they are not quite ready, I got some elderberries to make some elderberry wine though. I went on my scooter which is a bit of a struggle when the ground gets uneven, DH did all of the picking. I was sitting waiting for him and a fox came out of the hedgerow and stood looking at me for a good couple of minutes before trotting off into the opposite side.
We decided to go to one of our local country parks this afternoon. On the way there was a huge queue of traffic because a farm lorry had shed it's load of hay, it took 3 police cars and 6 officers to sort out the traffic, they stopped the traffic coming in and we were all sent around the roundabout the wrong way which is a bit disorientating, thankfully it had all been cleared by the time we came back.

Off to bed now so sweet dreams all x
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
