t-mobile sim in locked EE phone?

I bought a phone that was on an EE contract for my mum. She has had a t-mobile pay as you go for a long time now.

Anyway my question is, if she buys a nano sim on t mobile can she put it in her new phone (EE)

I thought it would be fine considering EE consists of T-mobile and orange however I didn't want her spending money on a sim that wouldn't work in her phone and not be able to take it back.

If anyone knows I'd greatly appreciate it.

Cheers

When you say an EE contract, do you mean the 4G part of EE?

Most reports of usage of locked phones relates to Orange and T-Mobile locked handsets working with each others simcards.

I suppose the only way to tell for sure is to try it.

It will work but be aware that T-Mobile may refuse to stand behind the coverage. I bought an Orange/EE branded phone earlier this year with a T-Mobile SIM at the same time and T-Mobile vehemently refused to stand behind coverage after a mast went down in my area.

My advice would be to avoid EE/Orange/T-Mobile until they sort out what they are doing as regards to their brands.

    What phone was it?
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

EE sims use T-Mobiles sim number range so will be OK.

    EE is technically T-Mobile 4G :)
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

Grab one for free online so she can try it out first.

Although if ordering one for testing them if it works as a PAYG, go via a cashback site to get £1 in cashback

Shame the old "get 50p" cashback deals for just ordering have gone
