You can't hover over a title of a post either and read the first few lines. I can't vet the threads I choose to read now. :rotfl:Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

Just about to post the same thing... It definately has potential and since its only BETA it is pretty good. But I think until these things are implimented
(hopefully) I will stick with IE7...
Still a great find and will be keeping an eye on it... Thanks again to the OP0 -
Actually, when I hover over a link, normally you see the address in the bottom left hand corner, I cant seem to see where you can see this on safari. I use that a lot when checking spam on my website and to check what site I am going on. Anyone know where this is?Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

Its under "View" then "show status bar"0 -
I found an article about this earlier and downloaded it to try. So far I haven't really noticed any detectable speed increase over Firefox or Opera. I must admit so far I don't really like it, the interface just doesn't feel right when I'm so used to Windows, it just looks wrong.
BTW try VLC media player, I used to use Winamp but now I only tend to use VLCIt's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
Safari is fast - especially on some pages.
However, its a total memory hog. Caught it using over 155mb of ram at one point and only 3 tabs were open. It was still using 155mb when 2 out of the 3 tabs were closed. After Safari was exited, it didnt release all this memory back to windows - thus I believe there are some memory leaks to fix. This would likely crash systems with little physical memory installed.
Hasnt crashed yet, its quite stable, but I have found some CSS rendering issues.
I also cannot login to Lloyds TSB internet banking - although this might be due to the Private Browsing feature. Can anyone else test this out?
Overall, not bad for a beta.0 -
Imported my bookmarks from Firefox. RSS feeds on the 'Bookmarks Bar' of Safari don't seem to work (feeds open in main window) so looks like Firefox is still the best IMHO.0

Pleasantly surprised - installed fine and definitely appears faster on some pages.
It's using cleartype font smoothing, which gives the text a sligtly washed out look in my opinion - but then I'm not wearing my glasses so i may just be a blind old bat!!!
I'll play some more - didn't like betfair's frames - but then neither do I!!!
hapless4kWp, SSE, SolarEdge P300 optimisers & SE3500 Inverter, in occasionally sunny Corby, Northants.
Now with added Sunsynk 5kw hybrid ecco inverter & 15kWh Fogstar batteries. Oh Octopus Energy too.0 -
Too premature to dismiss while it's still in beta. I'll wait until the release candidate to seriously consider using it full time."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Yes it does have a few little niggles, my back button on my mouse doesnt work and the double clicking the address bar doesnt select the whole address. But it does have things over IE as well.
To select all the text in the address bar triple click, you should normally triple click in most applications just ie has double click.Seems to be a little bit harsh on the eyes, the setup will need tweaking a little to make it easier to read.
Have you tried Edit>Preferences>Appearance and set font smoothing to light. This is if you had the same problem as me that teh text looked slightly blurry like that cleartype font or whateva.
As for safari in general seems alright and really does look silly in windows xp lol but i'll give it a try. I still prefer ie to evey other browser apart form with the upgrade to ie7 all the security crap that kept popping up.0
