I have seen my nephew school uniform from Asda, and was not impressed!! I buy from marks mainly, though did buy some polo shirts from tesco, but not as good as marks! I've had the £4 and £6 trousers from marks, the dearer are better and last all year, plus the sweatshirts!

I dont like the cheaper range of Asda Uniform, i constantly have to replace it. So this year will be getting things from M&S, Tesco as their quality is a lot better and lasts.

i bought M&S 8 pound trousers for my ds last september and hes still in them !!!
they wash up lovely and havent faded or gone bobbly, which is a bonus.
sadly i wont be getting them this september as they dont go up to his size with the elastic waist
so now i have to go on the hunt for elastic waist in age 12 thats reasonable price and quality

  • I need plain black smart casual trousers for work, I am lucky and can fit comfortabley into the age 13 - 14yrs, and bought 3 pairs of Asda school trousers 2 years ago, they are still good, granted I don't give them the hammer my kids would, but for £5 a pair, wash tumble dry and wear, with 4 young children and a low income I can't afford, M & S unless they come off ebay. The rate at which my children are growing they don't fit tthem long enough to look shabby.

Please note that most supermarket clothing such as ASda's, Tesco's etc is highly unethical.

It has been made by third world country workers with a very low pay and hardly any holidays.

:money: I know that MSE is about saving money but for once please make an effort as this is bad for people and for our environment.

Just wanted to pass the messages.

I get most of dd's uniform from Adams - they normally have buy one get one half price on including the sportswear, dd has worn her trousers and dresses constantly and they've not faded, bobbled, shrunk, I could sell them on as new. I bought her t-shirts for PE from woolies, they were 75p each and again, she wears them twice a week and they are still like new almost a year later.Mothercare polo shirts and plain white shirts are good value too. Was going to try the asda uniform for a tenner but after reading above don't think I'll bother.

I'm amazed, I dont think I know anyone that buys M&S school uniform. I usually get mine from Tesco or Asda, and they always last the one school year, my son grows so fast that he needs new clothes every school year anyway. Woolworths, Adams, Tesco, Matalan for polo tops, wouldnt buy Asda polo tops as they have shrunk in the past as someone else said.
