Unit Trust Tracker v ETF Tracker + ISA S&S Q

wondering about what the approx annual % saving would be transfering from a unit trust FTSE all share tracker to a ETF FTSE all share Tracker. i know the management fee for the unit is 1% and the ETF is 0.4% and i'm thinking there's no stamp duty on the ETF but are there any stealth charges i've not figured?
also if you open a S&S ISA fund do these funds have to be invested at all times to hold there isa status or can they be withdrawn from a unit trust and lay dormant in an ISA wrapped state whilst figuring your next move?

There might be charges to trade (ie buy and sell) so you might have to add that in especially if you are planning to buy regularly.
Lots of providers of S&S ISAs offer a cash fund also, although I haven't checked that they can be invested in via the ISA. But I'm pretty sure there is somewhere your money can be between investments.
Just as a note, if you are interested in cutting costs specifically on a FTSE Tracker Fund, the cheapest that I found in an ISA wrapper is the Fidelity Moneybuilder UK fund, which has an AMC of 0.1%. But of course you may be looking at another tracker.thoughts on personal finance @ plonkee.com0
