The bank writes to you to acknowledge the complaint in the first place. Did you even get that?

Have you phoned the bank to ask if they have the complaint?
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.

I don't remember receiving any correspondence from the bank, but he had a telephone call about why he thought he had been miss sold the policy.

We called lloyds and they said they sent a letter in January's which we never recieved! They have sent a copy finally after asking a second time. Are we screwed?

Have they said what the content of the letter was?

If its a reject letter you could possibly write back disputing it. Do you have a clear and valid reason for feeling you were Mis-sold the product? Or is this just a case of the CMC signing you up and then and putting in a standard load of lies without even asking about the sale?

Otherwise you could try FOS and try to argue special reasons for being outside the normal six months. The problem being that if the bank turn round and say they sent the decision letter over six months ago to a company you appointed to represent you, FOS may well take the line that you've nobody to blame but yourself if they don't do what you paid them for.

If its an uphold letter it's happy days for you.
  • The letter that we finally recieved today stated they didn't find evidence that it was miss sold. My partner was 18 when they signed him up but wasn't aware of the policy on his card and it then didn't cover him when he was unwell.
