Kernow Parking Solutions

Options
Hi back in May this year we received a parking ticket from the above company at Praa Sands in Cornwall for failing to pay and display. On arrival at the car park we had no change and the attendant was checking the cars so we asked him to allow us to get change from the shop on the beach. He nodded approval but after 10 mins, time it took to get to the shop buy something and return with a ticket we had got a parking fine!

Does anyone have any experience of this company, carpark and will the letters continue to court?

The latest letter 20/8/13 is from Debt Recouvery Plus Ltd asking for £149.99 now by 3/9/13, or court action.

Any advice welcome please.

These must be a new lot in the BPA AOS, never heard of them before and they don't have at first glance a website. On what to do, well ignore debt recovery plus completely, when they write to you pretending to be zenith collections you ignore them as well.

Only respond to the parking company if they issue a small claim or send you a letter before claim. Debt recovery cannot take you to court no matter what outlandish threats they give, or the links to their website with claim numbers, none of those will be for parking

Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Did this 'Kernow' firm ever actually send you a postal 'Notice to Keeper'? Or was a green/black Notice to Owner sent by a bunch called PCS? Was the Notice sent in time?

You ignore the debt collector letters but I am interested to know if this new PPC actually sent the Notice in time (between 29 and 56 days) after the windscreen fake PCN? See the link.

  • I have received a Notice to keeper from the same company. I have been charged with the ticket being face down. As I closed the car door the wind must have flipped it. I have sent a photocopy of the ticket which shows I was within the time limit. they have stated that they have taken several digital photographs. Can anybody give me some help with this matter.
  • Praa Sands car park according to Cornwall council is managed by MBC Parking (a limited company) . Neither MBC Parking or Kernow Parking Solutions appear on BPA AOS list (which claim to be updated for October 2013.

Question is - how can a parking company attain Keeper details when they do not belong to an ATA membership?

Please do start your own thread if you need to but the advice is the same to all now, as long as you are in England/Wales and so was the incident:

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=83749&st=0&gopid=874216

Do you mean you appealed as soon as you got the windscreen ticket and do you mean they replied and rejected your appeal? Did they include a 10 digit POPLA code, if so what date was the rejection letter?

Once you have a POPLA code you only have 28 days to use it to beat this scam. Have you got a rejection letter yet with a POPLA code?

No replies here please, this is indiajo's own thread. You need to start your own thread on the forum so click where my signature tells you, to get off this random thread and back to the parking forum thread index, where you can read today's threads and the sticky thread information, and where you can click the blue 'new thread' button.

  • Hi
We also received a ticket from these people - we were just a few minutes over the ticket expiry time, due to speaking to the life guards that were on the beach at the time. We ignored the parking ticket at first, because we thought the £100 charge for being a few minutes over was unjustifiable. We recently received a letter in the post, telling us that 28 days had now passed since we got the ticket (it's actually been more like 4 months), so we know they're not exactly up to date with their paperwork! We are probably just going to ignore it, as the payment options require us to send them our bank details, call a mobile phone number (they have provided no land line number, so obviously do not have an office), and the same with the postal address, they give a PO Box address. Aside from this, they seem generally unprofessional, the ticket is badly worded, with phrases that are very similar to the official notices you'd receive from the council etc., they state they took multiple photos to prove that we'd stayed over our time, just all seems to me like someone trying to intimidate people. I can't see them being the sort of company to take you to court. Does everyone else agree that we are best off leaving it? What other notice would they have to give if they were planning to take legal action?
    Thanks :-)

Please start your own thread as advice will become confusing as to whether it's yours or the OP's and if other newbies pitch in too it will become shambolic. And it could be costly for both of you.

Also, please break up your text into paragraphs as it's just too difficult to read in one large block.

Help on the way on your own thread.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
