Double Glazing Company's credit card machine faulty and wants BACS transfer instead

  • It may be worth checking the company via duedil.com. It will only give historical information but worth a look. If you go their plans and pricing page and scroll to the bottom there is a join for free option. They don't spam! I have no relationship to this company.
I would still wait for them to get their card machine sorted though and wouldn't do a BACS transfer unless they have completed the works satisfactorily first.

I would be worried if i paid by BACS that they would go out of business before fitting.

I would nEVEREST until it was all sorted.

I would give it the cold shoulder and insulate (I mean isolate) yourself from possibility of losing your money.

  • I too would be quite worried if there not accepting cards.

My local coner shop said they where 'Changing Banks' when they suddely stopped taking cards, and by the end of the month they where closed.

I have also seen it happen at a Mobile Phone shop, claiming they where waiting (too) for the card machine to be fixed and re-installed, and they too did not last long.
Thank you all for helping me make my day by saving money!

I guess it is fine for the customer when shops like restaurants, cafes, corner shops say we only accept cash as you are getting to goods/service there and then and paying. But something where you are paying (even some money) before goods and there is even a hint of going out of business i wouldnt touch and go elsewhere.

Even if it costs you an little bit more, pay by credit card.

At least you are protected if the glazing company goes bust or are slightly dodgy in fitting the windows

You might even say you're double glazed against the company going bust. :D
