tried to move a phone number (ex virgin or bt) from sky to talktalk and talktalk said no we cannot do sky numbers and your stuck with sky on any provider

It's up to the new provider whether or not they accept a port. If TT say they won't take on Sky numbers then that's that for them. Whether or not BT will is up to them - why not ask them.0

I successfully ported my Sky number to BT with no problem, in fact BT did all the legwork when I changed from Sky BB LLU to Infinity 2. Did not even need a MAC code from Sky, it all went straight through in less than 2 weeks.0
