High end does not mean good service. It usually means, we are great, our products could never go wrong, it is your fault.

That said, if they were that expensive. I would check my bags and shoes with a fine toothed comb. You admit you only noticed this after one wear.

The problem with this, is it happened after wearing then, more than likely. Due to it being near the toe and under it. It is quite possible you caught it on glass, a nail or some such. Which would tear a supple leather ballet pump. You have to prove otherwise and it is a weakness in the leather, why can't you take it to a cobbler. They are by all means "experts" in repairing shoes and spotting faults. It does not have to cost £100's

I bought the shoes on 2nd December, I contacted the retailer on 4th June....2 days outside of the 6 month period which I was told by CAB is now down to me to prove the fault. I wasn't aware of my rights then but I also didn't envisage this battle with the retailer given that they are a high end boutique, unfortunately I did expect the customer service to be in line with the price I paid for the shoes.

6 months between purchase and finding the fault, why did it take so long if you "had worn them once"?

    Hi there

I purchased a pair of leather ballet pump shoes from high end retailer, there is a slight tear on the leather which I noticed after one wear. I contacted retailer and told them I had worn them once ( they are in pristine condition) long story we are in dispute as to who is at fault me or the shoe (there are absolutely no other marks on the shoe).

I was advised by CAB that I need to get independent assessment of shoe to determine the nature of fault - can anyone put in the right direction of a leather specialist who can help resolve my issue.

    Thank you
    Paula

Hi Derrick fair question , two reasons
    1. They are a summer pump shoe, the weather conditions didn't lend itself to wearing these shoes until May.
    2. I live on a farm in rural Wales and not exactly the type of place I wear these shoes

They were kept in a box until then.

You didn't notice the 'te ar' until after you had worn them once.

Surely there is a chance that you could have torn them yourself during that first wear.

Buying and taking back six months later claiming 'fault' is a bit much to be honest.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

    I agree with this.

Six months?? I think you should chalk this down to experience and let this go.
