Unlocking Iphone 4 on 3 network

Hi,
I am hoping someone here can help me, either knows about this or had similar experience.

Basicaly I am due an upgrade. I have requested unlock for my old Iphone 4 which goes to a friend with different network. Now I have received a message that it is ready, I should put other then 3 network SIM into my old phone and connect to Itunes to finish the unlock. I can do this tonight - anyone knows what happens next? Is that it?

Can I order my upgrade now, before this is finished? Or should I not risk it? Should I wait until everything is sorted and definitely working and then order upgrade? Could it cause any problems?

It's just that I can wait up for the postman on Saturday.. Or go to PO. otherwise I will have to wait another week.

Yes - if they have unlocked it put the new SIM in and away you go.

You can order your upgrade any time you are eligible for it. Nothing to do with the unlocked phone

The unlock and upgrade are completely independent of each other. No problem with upgrading even before requesting an unlock.

Off to order the Iphone 5 then:-) Just wasn't sure whether they will still register my old phone if something goes wrong or if the new one overwrites it (like on their system or something).

You will need to get them to send you a new (smaller) SIM for the iphone 5 as it is a different size from the iphone 4

I would have hoped that they will send brand new SIM with an upgrade atuomatically? They usually do... I didn't have to put special request in when I was changing from Nokia standard SIM to an Iphone with micro SIM..
